Muppets Most Wanted Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre
Muppets Most Wanted Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre was absolutely spectacular and filled with lots of great memories. The one thing that sticks out in my mind the most is probably walking the famous “red carpet” and how different it was from my Planes experience. Because I grew up watching The Muppets to get picked for this trip was amazing to say the least and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I received the email because I truly believed it to be a once in a lifetime experience.
When the group of bloggers and I arrived the Muppets had already made their entrance and were performing at the building you can see at the far end of the road. It was a sight to see them interacting with each other and making everyone smile. But with all things on the red carpet we had to keep moving so it was hard to snap pictures, watch for celebrities and of course interact with them. However, I wouldn’t trade the laughs and memories for anything because it was truly an amazing experience.
When we arrived on the Red Carpet we arrived at the same time that Tina Fey did which meant we were right behind her walking on the red carpet. Lots of us can be spotted in the background of the professional pictures which is always fun to spy yourself.
There was lots of decorations, posters and so much more on the red carpet that of course we had to stop and pose for each other. We all had a photo buddy that was carrying our phones so we could quickly pose for photos and have our memories forever.
The top sign is the El Capitan theatre sign all lit up, second left was our official badge that we had to have in order to access the red carpet events as well as after party. The second right is Melanie and I capturing our experience together. Bottom row left to right is me on the Oscar Stairway, the phone booth from the movie and I in the second picture and finally, me with one of the many pictures that was on the wall behind us. With the excitement of the fans, paparazzi and of course the security guards all asking us to keep moving, it is almost impossible to get good shots, but we managed several of them despite the hurdles in our way.
The two grumpy older men from The Muppets which are Statler and Waldorf got the show started with a quick introduction. Then the curtain raised and the show began and I will tell you all about the movie at a later date. Then we enjoyed our popcorn and drinks as we watched the show, then at the end of the show we walked over to the after party premiere.
It was being held at the Hollywood and Highland Annex and was decked out with stage props from the movie, a full bar and of course a meal to enjoy while we mixed and mingled. It was a great opportunity to met celebrities that were in the movie as well as several others that were in attendance.
Some of the celebrities included Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Ray Liotta, and Josh Groban. Stefanie from Making of a Mom was elated to meet Josh Groban as was I but since he was trying to eat we just snapped a picture of them together. The talent behind The Muppets were also in attendance so it was a great night. I’m sure there were many more famous people there than I named but that gives you an idea of what it was like.
My favorite movie prop was the tiny Interpol car with several blogger buddies around it. We would have loved to sit in the car by unfortunately that wasn’t allowed. There was even the box that Josh Groban was in singing during the film which was fun to see.
The Muppets Most Wanted comes to theaters on March 21,2014 so be sure you make plans to go to the movies.
