Free Things to Do in Springfield Missouri
Heading to Springfield, Missouri is always a treat for our family because there are so many things to do and see. Whether you are there for a few days or a week there are lots of things you can do for free. What could be better than free?! Free is always the best, so instead of spending your hard earned money on enjoying your day, check out these free things to do in Springfield Missouri:
- Springfield Conservation Nature Center: Take a walk through 79 acres of serene forests, creeks, and prairies. This free venue has paved trails making it kid and stroller friendly. Enjoy wildlife, self-guided tours, hiking, bird watching, and so much more for you and the whole family for free! Just remember to pack your binoculars, camera and a picnic lunch to enjoy the scenery.
- Jordan Valley Park: Open year round to the public, Jordan Valley Park is a free family activity where you can enjoy luscious green scenic trails, birds, and blissful biking trails. Your kids can, also, enjoy a free wading pool as they learn to swim. With so much to do for free, Jordan Valley Park is a great place to go.
- Discovery Center of Springfield: Although not free at all times, Discovery Center of Springfield offers many free options to take advantage of. If you or a spouse is in the military, your entire family can explore this hands-on exhibit for free on Veterans Day. DCS, also, offers an array of free days such as Mother’s Day when mothers and grandmothers each receives free admission. But
- Springfield Art Museum: A visit to Springfield Art Museum is always free. Explore the pop art, the sculpture garden, and discover the history of a small group of women who wanted to offer free art to the community. Enjoy Saturday family days where your kids can make their own art and learn art techniques, free from 10-noon. With hands-on experience and beautiful artwork, there is something for the whole family.
