Disney Premiere of Planes #LittleMermaid Event and More!! Yes, read all of it again, and again, and again, that is what I did when I received my email on July 17, 2013 inviting me to the ‪#‎DisneyPlanesPremiere‬ in Los Angeles, California. I was more than ecstatic and speechless at the thought of being chosen for such an amazing opportunity. I read it over and over making sure I was reading it all correctly, I had Mr. SMSL sit down, shut the TV off (I had to know he was paying attention. lol) Then asked him if he was ready. Yes, I guess was his reply, but this better be good!! “It is,” I promised as I read the  email outloud to him.

Now, he wasn’t nearly as excited as I was, but he was happy for me throughout the whole email. Then I got to the part where it said, “only bloggers” allowed and I do have to admit I was a little disappointed at that, but I quickly got over it. Followed by my speechlessness  then the oh my goodness, this has to be a dream thoughts. Then I realized I would be going to a Red Carpet Premier and the starstruck Heidi came out.

I called my mom, who happened to be with one sister and my sister in law and all three were just as excited as I was. Then, I called my Dad who at first was confused, then he finally got it, and congratulated me. Finally, my baby sister got the phone call, but she didn’t answer so my best friend Amanda B. was next. Then Holly called me back so everyone knew within the hour of me knowing, after of course I confirmed that I wanted to attend. Each person was just as excited as I was and couldn’t believe I was really going to Los Angeles. When I got to pick up our daughter from softball camp that night, I told her and her friend Mary about my exciting news. In true teenager form they both said, “That’s cool.” Then they went back to their phones, maybe next time I will text her my news, but she did think for a minute and said, “So when are we going?” I told her that I was going and she was staying home, I got the standard spoiled child answer of, “Well, will you at least bring me back a t-shirt?”

Then the planning began, what was I going to wear, which purse do I carry? You know all of the really important things. I think I about drove my husband nuts with my what about this, and this and this. Knowing I should go to bed I tried it, but I was to excited and couldn’t sleep! But finally I gave in and the planning has continued until this post. I’ve went shopping for dresses, got new luggage, made my appointment, scheduled many things and finally I’m ready to face the agenda making of the trip.

August 4,2013 I will fly out of KCI at 1 pm and land at LAX (Los Angeles) at 2:25 pm. I will then be shuttled to The Rosevelt Hotel for my home away from home! That evening I will attend the Disney Consumer Products LITTLE MERMAID Showcase dinner!

August 5,2013 I will  Visit the Animation Research Library for a look at THE LITTLE MERMAID archived materials and a Q&A with the lead archivists. (I’ve got to get busy on questions!) Preview bonus content from THE LITTLE MERMAID and sit down for Q&As with Jodie Benson,  Animator and John Musker and Ron Clements, Writers and Directors. Which also seems amazing in an of itself, but then it is followed by attending the red carpet premiere of PLANES at the El Capitan Theatre!!

August 6,2013  I will Preview 20 minutes of the upcoming theatrical release FROZEN (in theatres November 27th) including a Q&A with filmmakers. (More questions to prepare) As well as a Meet and Greet with some of the stars of SUPER BUDDIES, the newest film in the Buddies franchise. Then I will load the plane at LAX at 5:25  pm and arrive back home at KCI around 10:35 pm. Then Mr. SMSL will be my chauffeur home, how lucky am I?

I’m hoping for a little bit of sightseeing while I am there and of course a quick trip to the beach. But our spare time will be limited so we will see if I succeed. Any guesses on what I will see that will be amazing??
